Who are the LeftOvers?
The LeftOvers currently consist of five guys from Caro and the surrounding area.
Left to Right - Tanner McDaniel, Tim Omstead, Kerry Penland, Jerry Pavia, Rick McCarthy
The LeftOvers were formed in 2006. The original members were
Tim Omstead - guitar, vocals
Kerry Penland - bass
Dennis Haslett - guitar, vocals
Kory Batschke - drums
We all met through what us musicians in the area called the Gibor Jams. Geoff Gibor, a great musician in his own right, had a old barn with a live 'studio' in it where many, many musicians and friends met and jammed and learned. It was here that I (Kerry) met Tim. Tim, Dennis and Kory had formed a band and were looking for a bass player.
This incarnation lasted for several years, but time passes and life affects us all. Dennis changed jobs and had to leave, Kory had a couple of career changes and he also needed the time for other endeavors.
Don Childs replaced Dennis on guitar. He remained with us until 2021 when he retired (not from making music though) and moved to North Carolina. Don was instrumental in bringing Jerry Pavia into the mix early on in his tenure.
Jerry Pavia is contributing lead vocals and keyboard into the mix. He has been with us the last few years now.
John Merz filled in on the drums when Kory was unavailable until 2022 when he had to stop to treat a back injury.
Rick McCarthy joined us in 2021, replacing a sorely missed Don on guitar. He also introduced Tanner McDaniel to the group and since that time he has filled in the percussion spot nicely.
So here we are in 2023, The LeftOvers, still rockin!
